Top 5 Tips to Build Your Very Best Body

Whether we have purposed to accomplish it or not, I think deep down, likely you all want to build your very best body. Am I right?

Sure, yours may be buried under years of over indulging, poor food choices, a sedentary lifestyle, stress, professional drive and more. You may not think that in a million years you could ever undo what has been done. And if you think there is a glimmer of hope you may think genetics are in the way. You may simply think, it is just too hard. No matter, the potential is there and the desire as well. So it is a matter then of making up your mind to pursue it and then knowing what to do to achieve it.

You can build your very best body, IF you choose to do so. And here are 5 fitness tips to make that potential a reality.

#1: Compound Movements Burn More Fat

Using multi-joint or compound movements such as squats, deadlifts, chin-ups, bench press, lunges, and rows as the bulk of your training efforts will accelerate fat burning and muscle building results. 3 sets are ideal but you can accelerate the results with additional sets but do not exceed 8-12reps per set.

#2: Train Like You Mean It

In other words, be serious about it. Working every muscle group hard and at high intensity will elevate your hormone levels, increase protein synthesis and fat burning potential. So don’t just get through your workout. Hit is hard, make it count and build your very best body.

#3 HIIT it to Burn Fat

High Intensity Interval Training and cardio is far superior to low intensity aerobic activity like a walk on the treadmill for 45 minutes. Yes, it is hard as heck but it can be accomplished in less time with far superior results. Build your very best body with activities like sprints, biking intervals, plyometric and any other body weight activity that can be completed with speed and intensity! You can also bring HIIT into the weight room- HIRT. High Intensity Resistance Training is a fat torching, muscle packing beast.

#4: Be Active in Daily Life

If you have a sedentary professional life it is important to incorporate readily available, easy action steps throughout the day in order to develop an active lifestyle. Taking the stairs rather than the elevator and parking away from the building and walking to the office are two easy options. You can also take quick breaks from the computer and perform a quick spurt of activity such as a few sets of body weight squats. Even getting up and walking around for 5 minutes once an hour before returning to the desk will make a huge impact on your ability to build your very best body.

#5: Fuel the Furnace

Often when fat loss is the goal, you cut back and skip meals. WRONG! Especially when you are losing weight with dramatically increased activity. The very opposite is the nutritional secret to build your very best body. 3 square meals plus 3-4 well balanced snacks is perfect. Just make sure they are whole foods combining lean proteins, complex carbs and quality fats in every instance and the pounds will melt away.

There you have it. I didn’t say that it is easy. But, I will always say it is worth it. YOU are worth it. So start your journey today with these 5 tips to build your very best body. It is in there just waiting to be released. You can do it. I KNOW you can! really good tips!  I like to make it fun too.  If it’s something I enjoy doing, I’ll stick with it.  So I do the wii fit rather than walking outside—- for me, walking outside is kind of boring.  But the wii fit is fun.

Hi Carl, these are some powerful steps to take while exercising
which will make all the exercising even more powerful than they already are. My
son is a fervent P90X-er; he will love this. So, he is the one who will be doing
    this, I am sure!!

I have learned watching my grandchildren that movement that is fun is way better than ‘making’ myself do a structured workout! Thanks for great tips!

We all have to find the path that works for us! I love the structure..having plan that I can tackle and track. THat is the beauty of it though….no one size fits all!

As always, Carl… excellent points! The only thing I would change is make #5 the #1 tip!! I have worked with countless clients that train very hard but can’t achieve their best body because of the poor nutrition component!!

    • http://www.el3mentsofwellness.com/ Carl Mason-Liebenberg

I agree Holly…presented them in no particular order really but all the other effort will be far less effective, even moot, if nutrition is not front and center!

Love the tip about fueling the furnace. This very tip helped me to turn my eating patterns and habits around and I’ve lost 54 pounds. Now I may be an aging baby-boomer but I’m looking pretty darned good if I do say so myself, lol

Enough is enough for me now. I looked pretty darn good a few years ago and something went wrong. I have committed to myself to get off the pot. I honestly hate hard core workouts. I am and always have been active, but it is  a fight with myself to do high impact things. Thank you for the great tips. I am taking them very seriously.
