3 Effective Steps to Sexy Abs

Okay, I’m jealous but for you northern hemisphere folks, summer is on its way while we here in the southern hemisphere are settling into autumn and what appears to be an early winter.

Are you ready?

Certainly it is nice to represent with smoking hot abs. No doubt they sure look good on those hot summer days when you want to show off a bit, get some sun and have fun in the sand and surf. But frankly, sexy abs are more than just good looks. A strong, toned core represents good health, proper nutrition and fitness prowess. They reflect simply good health.

Not everyone will have a six pack. In fact, I’d say that most will not. Though genetically available to most everyone, including women, to truly have those washboard cuts demands a lifestyle that simply is not sustainable for most of us. But a 6 pack is not the definition of sexy abs. Flat, tight and toned abs are sexy for sure and those can be achieved and sustained by all!

So what are some easy, effective, powerful movements by which you can achieve sexy abs? I have 3 in mind today! They can be done anywhere, anytime and when combined with proper nutrition, will deliver toned, tight abs that will boost your confidence, make you smile when you look in the mirror and allow you to show off and enjoy some fun in the sun with no fear or shame! In fact, you just might get a bit of extra attention! How about it? Ready to work those abs?

V-Ups

Lie on your back with your arms stretched overhead and your legs very slightly bent at the knee. Using a slow and controlled motion, bring your arms and legs together over your waist, so that only your low back and butt are touching the floor. Hold for a couple seconds and roll back down to starting position. NOTE: Pay attention to your spine rolling down from the tail bone to your neck-one vertebrae at a time as your legs lower simultaneously.

Plank

You might not think of this as an ab exercise, but hold this for 1 minute and you will change your mind. You’ll roll over onto your stomach, so that you are face down to the floor, with your palms resting on the floor as if you are about to do a push-up. Now, push up onto your toes and rest your forearms on the floor. Keep your back flat and straight throughout the exercise, and don’t stick your butt in the air. Keep everything from the shoulders down flat and aligned. Hold your abs in without holding your breath and stay in this position for 20-60 seconds, or longer if you can! Slowly lower to starting position.

Bicycle Crunches

Simply lie flat on the floor and put your hands beside your head. Bring knees up to about 45 degree angle. Slowly move your legs like you are pedaling a bike, and touch your opposite elbow to your knee). Don’t forget to breathe.

Those are 3 powerful and effective moves to help you achieve those sexy abs for the summer but most of all for your wellness. Incorporate these into your fitness routine and prepare to show off!
